DESCRIPTION:General information \nThis course is intended primarily for veterinarians\, biologists\, or physicians seeking to learn about electroporation and electrochemotherapy in oncology. The content of the course is specially selected for clinical veterinarians\, researchers and veterinarians who specialize in veterinary oncology in small and large animals. \nTherapeutic tools in veterinary oncology advance day by day and continuous training is needed for the proper performance of the veterinarian oncologist. The goal\, contents and training of this course\, provide the tools to the students to be able to provide a veterinary health service according to what society demands nowadays\, knowing the modern treatment tools and focusing on electroporation and electrochemotherapy as part of the most advanced therapies that are available in the world. \nThe approach consists of a theoretical introduction to the topic that includes a discussion of scientific work\, reviews and clinical cases\, in which specific concepts will be exposed\, encouraging debate on the issues raised. \nThis course is the only one in Latin America that has the endorsement of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) in Argentina and the International Society for Electroporation-Based Technologies and Treatments (ISEBTT). \nIt is organized and directed by Dr Guillermo Marshall\, Dr Matías Tellado and Dr Felipe Maglietti. \n  \nAims of the course \nThe participants will: \n\nacquire the knowledge and skills needed to prescribe and perform electrochemotherapy correctly and efficiently in the veterinary setting.\nlearn the basic principles of electricity needed to understand how an effective electric field is produced to electroporate tissues.\ndeepen the knowledge and the physical-chemical foundations that underlie the tissue electroporation technique.\nknow the main highlights of the presentation\, epidemiology\, carcinogenesis\, diagnosis\, biological behaviour and treatment of neoplasms frequently treated with electrochemotherapy in veterinary medicine.\nstudy leading scientific articles\, book chapters\, and notes related to electrochemotherapy in order to gain independence in the field.\nincorporate key concepts for reading and interpreting scientific articles in oncology.\n\n  \nMethodology and learning strategy \nThe course consists of 7 modules\, covering the topics of the subject. DESCRIPTION:Dear Friends and Colleagues\, \nI am pleased to announce the First Congress of VITARES\, Veterinary Immunotherapy and Translational Research which will take place from 27 February to 1 March 2019 at Castel Romano\, Rome. \nPublic health initiatives such as One Health demonstrate the growing awareness of the fact that animal and human health are strongly interconnected with each other and with the environment. Zoonotic pathogens and Cancer represent a direct hazard to Veterinary and Human Health. This meeting brings together Basic research\, Veterinary and Human Medicine Scientists involved in the field of Immunology\, Oncology and Education\, aiming at creating networks of collaboration. Internationally renowned scientists from Italy and abroad will provide the State of the Art and present their most recent data in a highly stimulating scientific environment. \nTopics will range from the importance of Preclinical Models for Basic and Applied Science\, Veterinary and Human Oncology and Immunologic therapies side by side and the impact of Environment.
